Kinda sums up where i live.....now x2 fires =/

Well woke up this mornin with a phone call from my mum....

 

"Look down the road theres a load of police tape outside the old folks home"

 

Dad looks out the window, not seeing the tape, but seeing instead a huge burnt hole in the roof. Looking through my window you can see the bottom of the block of houses too, that was also burnt........so we assumed something left on had caught light Still quite bad, but probs not as bad as what actually happen'd

 

Turns out, the people that live there leave there mobility scooters outside at night, so some bright young hooligan (we think) decides to set light to this guys scooter, being next to the house, it then quickly catches the porch which sets his flat alight, which is bad enough, but then also quite quickly settin the flat above him up in flames too burning a huge hole throught the flat

 

The aftermath leaves 3 old folks in hospital, one with breathing problems anyway, he has to be given oxygen from a tank he carries around on what was his scooter. And also his wife and the person above

 

 

Anyone in the midlands will probs see this on the news tonight, as we had the camera vans round there this mornin aswell

Trouble is this sort of thing is happening all the time and nothing gets done to sort the problem out , the only loosers are the hard working tax paying / retired types , it seems to be the generation off you cant hit/smack me or teachers cant give out any disipline , dont get me started with the "back in my day" but its true and none of the slipper/cane/detentions i had at school did me any harm.......Christ i sounded like my Dad then

In all fairness we thought pretty much the same, nothing would be done, but the cops by us seem to be takin it seriously

 

They've had people walkin round since 1 this afternoon asking questions

 

We had, Have you had any trouble down here with Youths? and also Did you see anything suspitious? Were you at home at 3 this morning?

 

So hopefully the little sh*ts will get caught

 

Im 15, which is probs bout how old they were, and i wouldnt ever think bout doin tht too anyone, let alone OAP's

Bit off sad news

 

Only just found this out on the BBC news page, one of them has died (the one whos scooter it was and had the breathing problems )

As i can make of it, the other 2 are still in hospital

Very sad news and my condolences to all involved.

Can I just mention that mobility scooters run on batteries which can catch fire all on their own. Maybe it was kids, but don't jump to conclusions too quickly.

Well, little update, well quite a big one...... Aparently another person died for this fire

 

And got home today to find more police and camera vans round at the same old floks home. Turns out last night, around the same time another scooter was set on fire from a house pretty much next door

 

So not sure it was the scooters fault for the fire, definately some1 thinking it's fun
