2litreScapri Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Hey all, Just want to clear an argument up. Changing parts of your car for performance or style enhancemenets would be classified as modification, in the eyes of the insurance companies "any product which enhances the appearance or performance of the motor vehicle's standard specifications" A work colleague argued that decorating your house isn't modifying, when i think it is given the above statement. Just because insurance companies don't classify modifications on houses and bearing in mind cars have only been around 125 years, doesn't mean to say changing the wallpaper or fitting a power shower when there wasn't one isn't modifying your house. Agree or disagree?

mexman123 Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Having Mexico stripes on a car in an insurance companies eyes, would make it more of a theft attraction, would it not?? Hence why they tend to kick up a fuss. The way i look at it is, if i offered you a premium, ie £200 for the year, would you promise to pay out for any damage that i caused with my car, to my car, and also if it got stolen?? Most people would probably say, bugger off, no its not worth it...well thats how it is to an insurer, they are the ones taking the risk...not the person paying the premium...
