pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee tell me what it is with satin black coz i just DO NOT GET IT , there was a puma in york the other night in satin with satin wheels and im sorry to say but it looked sh*t, not knockin you one bit, if you like it its each to there own but how come quite a lot are goin for the satin black thing lately

Theres a brond new Range Rover sport and a Ferrari Scudera on the Chelsea embankment in Matt black.....now that i don't get!!

Its cheap an easy to do, get a few wizz cans and the cars done, i know the hot-rods did it ages ago to have the un-finished look for the drag strip, but they do make a big effort to do brilliant bulkheads and such

i actually like the look too i like the rat look etc

 

my car is quite solid there is a bit of rot on o/s rear arch and my front panel, but i cant afford a paint job so thats my main reason as satin black is so easy to paint

I think the only reason its done is when a car needs a respray and the owner cannot afford one. If you painted a car red or blue or any other colourwith rattle cans it would look shite, you can't get a decent finish with rattle cans.

 

With satin or matt black the finish is meant to be dry looking so it looks like its supposed to. Its the only colour you could get away with in my opinion. Why you would want a new expensive car matt, I don't know.

dont take it the wrong way your car looks cool and i like it. i saw a old capri and you could see all the filler bulging out of basically everywhere,the front of the wings around headlights where twice as thick.as i just said your car looks in satin black

For me if it's applied well to a well prepped and detailed car it looks well, if it's done badly over a shed it looks like a shed.

ya see no offence but after a resto or obviously had some money spent on it why paint it a dull colour when it would look so much better with a nice shiny paint job, ok if ya cant afford a paint job (which im in that boat) but the above car surely deserved a nice paint job.although im guessing its been sprayed properly just usin satin black instead of a gloss colour as it dont have the dry edges that an aerosol gives

i think they look better with the proper rat look i.e primer red or grey here and there, tbh the satin black with aerolsols looks to some people like a sh*t spray job as in uve attempted it but couldnt get a shine , i think to them that dont know its meant to be satin will probably think that guy doesnt know how to use a spray gun its all dull

just my opinion and there your cars but its just not my cuppa tea, although your tina cortinamad does actually look the dogs

im sick of the red on the front of mine fading and it will just be easier all black because if it does need touching up its so easy the satin black just blends straight back in

satin will sofen the lines on a motor and give it the rat look, ford used it on the bonnets of the race motors to stop sun glare, but the complete car is defo the rat look image, also if you have ever had a satim black car up behind you it seems to say move over im coming through
