steve mk2 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Will I be screaming the tits off my xflow at 60 mph in top gear or cruiseing?I'm not too clued up on diff stats? Reason I'm asking is I've seen one for sale and it's got a LSD in it. Thanks steve.
livewire7116 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 buy the diff and sell the 5.1 on again, i presume its an english or atlas?
steve mk2 Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 I'm not sure it's come out of a escort would that mean it's English? I suspose I could always fit the slippr in my 4:1 I've got lying in the garrage.
livewire7116 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 if its built up put a pic up will soon be able to tell
Mexico Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 I don't think 4.1 would be the best either mate. Best of with a 3.77 or 3.54 i reckon
H.P.E harry Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 I think a 4.1 for road use mate, i wouldnt advise it for motorway though!
Yeomans22 Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 i have a 4.1 in mine as it was an 1100cc, at 70mph the revs are a little over 3500. its not great for motorways but gets off the mark quite quick Paul.
rsdaz Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 5.1 will be awfull on the road. im using a 4.1 with a 5speed box and i think its great on the road. it might not be the best for cruising but its good enough and its realy punchy in every gear.
sambo Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Depends on what wheels you are using mate? if your on 13's then it would be pretty hardcore but if your on 15's then it will be fun and just about useable on the road with a type 9 i reckon.
ratman Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Ive got a 4.1 with a 5 Speed & 185/60/13's sharpish off the lights and still ok on the motorway Ive tryed a 3.7 and 3.9 with the 5 speed and the 4.1 & 185/60/13's is the best all round IMO
steve mk2 Posted April 13, 2010 Author Report Posted April 13, 2010 The 4:1 I've got in the garrage use to be in my escort anyway and I drove it round for a year, the only reason I took it out is because it was noisey and I managed to come across a reconditioned 3:89 with all new guts for a cheap price. I surpose I could always get it fitted in my 3:89 This all depends weather I win it anyway as it's on eBay, If I don't then il buy a new one at the end of the month I want a plate type one would transX be the best one to go for???
