pccapri Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I have had a mate who was supposed to know what he was doing to wire my push button starter in my car. So far I have melted two buttons, and dont want to do another one for this weekend. Now electrical things arent my forte could the way hes wired it up? if so how should it be wired up and where from. All the standard wiring was stripped out and now only what i need is in there and put in by the same person. any help would be appreciated.
nellyscossy Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 if the switches are melting then they arent up 2 the job, you will need to fit a relay to take the current away from the button ,if you need i,ll sort out a diagram for you
john_3.0s Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 unless its a very p!ssy little switch it shouldnt be melting, sounds like it has been wired wrongly. All you are doing is replacing the switch in the ignition lock which isnt all that heavy duty to strart with
over_head_cam Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Sounds more like it's been wired up wrongly. If you were a bit closer I'd pop over
pccapri Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Posted May 10, 2010 The buttons ive bought have looked quite heavy duty and werent cheap so i dont think thats the problem. If you could send me a wiring diagram that would be great.
