chunkys mk1 Posted July 16, 2010 Author Report Posted July 16, 2010 mines on standard axle, had to grind the lip back on the arch a little, its ok as long as theres no more than 2 people in the car and is your car lowered and what tyres are you running as i was thinking of 185/55-13 with 1 1/2 lowering blocks
mk1escortmad Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 175/50/13 Its on 1.5" blocks, sit a bit high but will get it sorted when i have the funds, any lower and the tyres will rub big time
RossMK2 Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 think if you have your arches rolled you'd be fine mate 175/50 13's i know have been done loads of times so it is possible deffinatly
mk1escortmad Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 thats the problem for me 1 of my arches is all filler! its on the neverending to-do list lol
rsdaz Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 175 50's on most 7j 13's will fit fine under standard arches with just the lip rolled but the problem with superlites is the offset is crap for escorts so its a bit of a pain to get them to fit.
MEXY867M Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 these are minilights with 175x50x13 yoks rear arches have been rolled and they fit snuggly
silverstreak Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 ive got 175 50 13 s on my mk2 escort no problems because ive put it to standard ride height
tom28 Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 ive got mk2 with 175/50/13s and shes sitting on 2" lowering blocks and she dont rub at all
Unclebuck17 Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 I run 175/50x13 on RMD minilite style alloys, 2" lowering blocks with rolled arches and as you can see from the picture they fit quite well.
lurch914 Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 these are from midland wheels and ive got 175/50 tyres and its lowered 2 inchs
stephens_xpack Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I run 175/50x13 on RMD minilite style alloys, 2" lowering blocks with rolled arches and as you can see from the picture they fit quite well. Loving that look, very very cool..
Mick The Cabbie Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I love lurch914's Mex and that yellow 4door (1st time i've seen it) is absolutely spot on!!! Simple & uncluttered the way a 4door should be imo. Anyway, back to topic. Mk1 escort's have limited space under the rear arches compared to Mk2's. Ideally on a Mk1, you need zero offset rims ie - genuine Minilights as per Posse's old white/black Mex in the pic or JBW replica Minilight's or std revolutions etc. Superlights & Revolites have a -7 offset (more dish on the outside) which sit very close to the arch. Some seem to get away with it if the car aint too low. But if ya gonna slam it, you really need zero offset Mk2's however have wider rear arches so Superlights fit just fine
MikeyG Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 They really look good! I have a brand new set of these for sale. They have never been fitted and are still in the boxes. £269.
