Finally after 7years in grey primer...yikes

I'm having a go at painting my car on the driveway, this is how its looked for 7 years....

During which i've done an engine conversion ( took 3 years off and on) moved house, got married, had my first child AND write the car off on the M1 but now at last bit by bit its getting there! i'm so happy just the quarters and the roof to go!

And once this is finished i've got this one to tackle

looks pretty dam good for a drive way job keep up for good work. that for door looks wickid it the tawny brown my dads mk3 tina is the same its a cool colour

Looks really good, soon be finished. Did you get much rust coming through the primer? If not, did you coat it with anything before (e.g. zinc primer)?

Thanks guys the primer was put on over the gloss coat so it didn't rust.

where did u get the wheel on the 4door from, never seen that much of a dish in that style? or is that just cuz i live in Sri Lanka where for example there is only one mk1 cortina 2 door in the entire county

Thanks gang, the steering wheel is i think eary healey sprite!

the 4dr will be radiant red with the sixties style three white stripes running between the wheel arches ( like the early twin cam) the 4dr has a rebuilt 1680 gt from a 1600e cortina, i spent 9 months welding it off and on and i've replaced every part of the braking system ( was drums all round), i just need to tart her up now! ( i use this as daily transport)

the arches are mk2 vw golf front and back! ( bonnet vents are mk2 toyota mr2 )
