Mk1 & mk2 escort fuel tanks,are they the same?

As per title,I want to put a standard fuel tank in my mk2 and have come across a mk1 rs2000 tank local,are they the same or interchangeable?

just be careful on one point

 

I had a tank once which had a fuel return pipe coming out of the side and it was not connected to anything coz mine did not have a fuel return line,

 

if not in use swap or block off
