MARK FRST Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 as above if so what are the pitfalls problems
turnover Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 yes it will go in no probs but a bit under powered for the size of the engine and lazy reving
Beakster Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Yes, here's a twin turbo one in a mk2: Great engine. 200bhp Naturally Aspirated for not a lot of money, and very driveable too. A 4 cylinder making that much power will cost a lot of money and not be well behaved for daily driving.
bortaf Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 yes it will go in no probs but a bit under powered for the size of the engine and lazy reving 200 - 220 under powerd from a 2.9 ?? Heat and size will be the main issues, or lots of bulkhead cutting and reshaping to get it right back so it's doesn't ruin the balence of the car (as in the pic).
EscortHeadCase Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I considered this for a bit. But at the end of the day. Unless you want a strip eating escort or to completely gut the front end to get it to handle. I would just keep the weight down and stick to a 4-5 pot engine. If money is an issue look at Nissan CA18DET and SR20DET engines. I decided it was worth the money keeping it pinto on 45s
Skimmer Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 That looks a tidy instalation , nice one..
