I have noticed that alot of the regular meets i.e The Ace & Boxhill etc. are quite a distance from me. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining here, after all, The Ace is my most favourite meet, I absolutley love it I have also noticed that the following for our beloved Fords has never really gone away in the SW London area e.g. Croydon, Surrey, amongst others. So, this ladies and gents was my idea. What sort of interest would I get if say for instance, I could arrange a meet inbetween the area's where alot of OSF'ers live????? I have a couple of places in mind, one is pretty local to me, and the others are inbetween myself and Croydon - i.e Bromley/Sevenoaks! It was just an idea, so please, let's discuss
bomber1 Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 i will do as many meets as the car/wallet and work allow. there seems a lot from se london kent area so its a good idea imo im still trying to iron the bugs out off my car even tho its been back on the road 8months now

It was just an idea, so please, let's discuss Good idea, but I think it will be too much. Not for getting the Ashford meet with Boxhill and the Ace thats 3 big meets in the south east of the country. I think it'll be too much. There's already something on nearly every weekend in the summer months and as much as I'd like to attend all of them its impossible as it is.

I have attended your Ashford meet on one occasion, and I will be there again. I was just sort of trying to get a rough idea as regards to any locals that don't live too far from me before it was something that I looked into organizing. Tim, your right, the meets such as Ace Boxhill & Esher are all pretty close to one another, but getting to those meets from here is somewhat a mission. As Rustypup said, there is nothing that goes on around these parts (Apart from the Ashford meet) It isn't something I want to have a heated agument over, as for me, the three meets I will be attending most this year will be The Ace, Boxhill & Ashford. I have to be honest, I don't know how many members on here are actually from round my parts, I know it isn't a great deal. BTW, I have forgotten about the Mickeys Diner meet. Is this one a regular thing as I totally forgot about the last one As said folks, just an idea and I don't wish to sound ungratefull or cause offence to the people that have taken the time to organise such meets.

Is that a regular thing, if so, how often??? Fiesta Steve is right, we are in the middle of winter (which is something I keep forgetting) and when the summer gets here, it will be a different matter. I am still quite new to all this really, it was just an idea for a small meet for any locals near me. I have to say, it is quite depressing the lack of old Fords where I live. There are lots of old people who like Rovers and Kia's, and lots of Chav's who like french poo! I am all alone

No heated arguments here m8 I was just saying that when I tried to organise the Ashford meet it was very difficult choosing dates. This year I have posted up the Ashford meet dates in on the calender and already there is an event organsied for the following day of the June meet and some people just can't attend 2 meets in a row on a saturday and a sunday. And the next meet clashes with another event so will be almost impossible to attend both, not that you'd want to cos it would be a long day and in reality people do have lives outside of oldskool ford (I haven't but i'm sure others have ) If I didn't have a family to worry about i'd attend the lot but the Mrs might get the hump after too much of that and the kids would start calling me uncle If you do want to organise a local meet then I say go for it as I'm sure many people would attend Also, thanks for coming along to the Ashford meet, it was good to meet you m8 and that goes for everyone that attened the meets during 2006
