Daveyboy20 Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Its all sorted now thanks to Ian Carson of 'MOTATUNE' (0151 678 3653 - tell him Dave with the Cortina recomended you ) the condensor was goosed and the carb was throwing in far too much fuel, the condensor had burnt the points out and coz the carb was so far off the mark it didnt really have a chance of running right. Anyway after hooking up to many a diagnostic device he managed to make it run beautifully and commented on how good the compression is on the motor. So she has new coil/plugs/leads/points/rotor arm and condensor not to mention a calibration of the carb and some new slippy stuff - so... Jobs a goodun!! She's running really smooth and responsivly now, fingers crossed it stays that way!!
