Pipster007 Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Well you'd be saving weight on metal and glass if you chop it and drag it up the strip, plus I'm sure it'd be more economical to run as you'd drop it's drag coefficient
D-FENS Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 dont chop it drop it,slam it to the floor.
v8cortina Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 I say no chop. I have an old picture somewhere of a chopped Mk2 Cortina. I will try and find it and post it up for you to have a look
Grizzley Dell Posted October 30, 2010 Author Report Posted October 30, 2010 blimey, whats up with you lot. i reckon it would look the nuts. oh yeah lenny i wont do it myself mate, it would end up a convertable if i did it.

Grizzley Dell Posted October 30, 2010 Author Report Posted October 30, 2010 are you maddddddddd quite probably mate i remember seeing one with a chop years ago and i fell in love with it. just looked so sleek and squashed. i know its a 2 door but its a rusty old heap and its never gonna have a decent body(much like me) so why not do something different with it. chop, jackup kit, big anti tramp kit, red light over the axle and some proper old skool fatties on the back. you know...70's style baby

v8cortina Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 chop, jackup kit, big anti tramp kit, red light over the axle and some proper old skool fatties on the back. you know...70's style baby Those were the days I had a 63 Mk1 Cortina jacked up, red light over axle, wide steels - going back almost 30 years!! now
Grizzley Dell Posted October 30, 2010 Author Report Posted October 30, 2010 it looks cool. shame it was a 4 door though. hmm im still up for it.
Jiffer Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 for the love of god NO, the mk2 in my opinion one of the best looking cars ever
Skimmer Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 I did a roof chop on a MK2 2 door in the late 80's early 90;s it turned out just what the owner wanted and he was over the moon though as it was a 2 door i think i would have left it unchopped , though during that period i was roof chopping everything and they were good times , if you do it it will definatly be a different angle on a MK2 Tina in this decade as alot of the panels have a "squareness" as opposed to a round / curved panel the metalwork isnt too bad .......Its your car / choice
