SebringRS Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 Whos got it on here....?? Were meant to be having it installed today, was meant to be yesterday, but the cowboys that did our drive cut the virgin cable going to our house. So now the virgin people are coming back out in a minute to fit it all again Oh and to cap it all off, we cant get any phone calls coming in, well we don't get our calls, but the women round the corner does So when they connected our house back up the the phone yesterday, somehow they've managed to cross the line But strangely, we can ring out on the phone Anyhow, fingers crossed all will be sorted soon but yeah, main question, is it any good??

Savvi Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 Im so glad someone else has asked this When we move next month we have thought about changing back to Virgin, we were with NTL before we moved here but they messed us about with connecting etc. so we ditched them. What deal did you go for as it looks a lot cheaper then Sky and Bt broadband ? Also can it still be routed to another room and controlled in that room as sky can ? We often record stuff and watch it in bed

garyv6100e Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 Tom if you have got the XL package set it to record ESPN (channel 529) this wednesday at 10.30am you have got the final round of the NHRA drag championship on for 2 1/2 hours with all 4 class championships to be decided
SebringRS Posted November 14, 2010 Author Report Posted November 14, 2010 yeah got the XL That will be on series link Wednesday then Loving this record thing. I've recorded group B swansong, and fiesta challenge tonight. No more of them bloody tapes
Stiggy Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 I was with Virgin for a long time, NTL prior to virgin, and Nynex before that (Long time ago). But since I switched to Sky what an absolute wonderful experience. Got all channels except Sports 20 meg true unlimited broadband, there is no fair use policy on it. And it does not slow down to a crawl like Virgin when the strangle your connection at peak times. Unlimited calls to UK landlines and some international numbers 24/7, for instance I can phone Canada free of charge 24/7, only have to hang up after an hour and redial. £69 a month.
SebringRS Posted November 14, 2010 Author Report Posted November 14, 2010 We did want to have sky, but there's a fook off big tree in our back garden that blocks the signal and it's got a bloody preservation order on it
Smudger105e Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 On Virgin, was NTL, no problem, XL package, get catch up TV and TV on demand which ain't on Sky. Problems are that the call Centre if you do have trouble are in India, and the Broadband is a bit slow at isolated times, never too much of a problem though. If it's a case of Sky or Virgin, it's swings and roundabouts I reckon...
Kelvfoozinda Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 I'm with virgin, if you can get past the connection problems they seem ok. We had them come out to wire up and the bloke found the cables cut off on the inside of the house and plastered over, I told them there was nothing in here but they obv had it on computer and thought it would be a 10 min install, so he drilled holes and fitted the boxes, connectered it outside and then it was cut off at the bottom of the garden ( by them). They then misses two appointments to rewire it but eventually came back out and got it sorted (its a long run from the box). Then about two weeks ago someone up the road got it installed, and i lost all signal. The prick had taken out my cable and moved it down to a lower signal socket and put the new person in my socket, so another 3 days later they came and moved it back! I also had one of the new samsung boxes to start with, was really fast and looked nice but it died within a few weeks, so ive got an old shitty box now as they recalled all the nice ones, still yet to get a replacement! Broadbands good and i like all the iplayer stuff on the tellybox.
