squadge78 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 nice old cars i used to have a supersport in sunburst red back in 1886.dont no if its still about but i do remember the reg .MOD 240W 1886? that's an early one
tom28 Posted November 21, 2010 Author Report Posted November 21, 2010 i won her on ebay, heres a link mate, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
banarama Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 VERY NICE MATE,EVEN GOT THE ORIGINAL TAILGATE
squadge78 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 love that colour, slam it with satin black banded steels. i have a x-flow in mine with the original 1100 box, cradle and driveshafts,u need to do a few mods but it goes in.
tom28 Posted November 21, 2010 Author Report Posted November 21, 2010 gd idea mate im liking it and is 1100 box ok with 1600? what mods do u need to do? is it straight drop in
squadge78 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 the main mod is that u need to trim and weld the o/s inner wing to clear the water pump pulley,i used the original engine mount, tight fit but it goes in,also lowered the cradle by making some 20mm spacers and fitting them in-between the cradle and body, use xr2 bolts cos they're 20mm longer and are still available from Ford dealers.the exhaust can sit catch on the body due to the engine being a bit far over,i modded mine but my mate left his and is. the 1100 box is handling it with no probs, mines a tweaked 1700 and it goes like stink off the line with that box but at 70mph its a 4000rpm. its has seen off quite a few bigger cars from the lights with this set up but if its slightly wet it'll just spin all the way through the gears and can be a handful. hope this helps
tom28 Posted November 21, 2010 Author Report Posted November 21, 2010 thanks for info mate helpful and nice mate, all me mates banged on about getting a corsa for a winter car but im gonna feel bad driving the fezza lol just need to save fuel as me escorts a 1700 with webbers just aint economical lol hope the 1.1 does me for few weeks, if she is 36k from new i shouldnt get any problems but then it is a ford..
squadge78 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 set the tappets and treat her to points and condenser, set the timing and you'll be pleasantly surprised how nippy they are in standard form.
tom28 Posted November 21, 2010 Author Report Posted November 21, 2010 will do, ill post more pics up on here, and Retards Club, when i get her, ill try the superlites on her when she gets home
squadge78 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 here's some superlites on standard arches with xr2 kit, think they might be 175/50 tyres on.look ace though
tom28 Posted November 22, 2010 Author Report Posted November 22, 2010 looks lush mate dunno about the xr2 kit with the blue though.. but then im not 100% about the arches on ebay, still i gota choose as i cant have the superlites sticking out lol
cjay2004 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 prob easier & cheaper to put a CVH in??? same hassle , cheaper + easier engine to get??? just my thoughts
