I am now a proud owner of a 1972 mk1 escort (4 door)

 

 

It had a strange poiler has now been removed (not to my taste)

 

 

Needs quite a bit of work

 

 

i got it running last Monday it had been stored and not started for 20years!

My project list (which is not exhaustive)

 

Patches/Welding needed:

-Boot floor (both sides spare wheel well and under Petrol tank

-Both sides next to bonnet hinges

-all arches

-front foot wells (both)

-front panel

 

Repairs needed to:

-bottom of doors

-rear door glass (was smashed)

-drivers door hinge

-all brakes

-coolant system

-bottom of petrol tank

 

Work has started already, i have sanded and primmed both rear doors, bonnet and sanded and little repairs done, two bonnet hinge areas i have patched (needs tidying up) i have purchased a front panel, various brake components, and i have replaced the rear door glass.

 

i'd really like to get it on the road MOT'd and free tax'd by April then next winter do some more projecting!
