Binnes Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Just looking at the cost of putting together a fully floater from the parts rally design list. They are way, way cheaper than anyone else but I was just wondering if anyone had tried any of it?
sambo Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Same here mate, Someone must have tried them?
Binnes Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 That is what worries me, why are their prices so much less than anyone else? Is it cheap shit or is everyone else a rip off???
mk1super Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 That is what worries me, why are their prices so much less than anyone else? Is it cheap shit or is everyone else a rip off??? I'd say the latter
SebringRS Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I know the mk1 escort mexico wings are alot cheaper from them than even hadrians themselves So id agree with, others are expensive, not there quality. They came through the other day, couldn't say a bad word about Rally Design or the wings so far, apart from a small dent, easily pulled out though did let them know about it and they said they'd happily knock a bit off our next order from them Quick delivery aswell, bought them in the afternoon one day, turned up at 7 the next morning
Binnes Posted December 31, 2010 Author Report Posted December 31, 2010 I have used rally design plenty in the past with no problems. It is more the quality of their fully floating axle parts I am interested in.
turnover Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 why do you want to go full floater? what you using the car for
Binnes Posted January 1, 2011 Author Report Posted January 1, 2011 why do you want to go full floater? what you using the car for Its a 170 brake mk1 rally car. I need to uprate the axle to atlas to stop the english crown wheels wearing out (its a 5.1 so the teeth are small!). I have looked at going gp1 axle and spoken to fostek but due to budget issues I haven't bought anything yet. I was looking at the rally design stuff and noticed that at the prices they wanted for parts it would be cheaper to self build (well get my brother in law to self build...) a rally design fully floater than to buy a pro built semi floater. I agree with buy cheap, buy twice. But I just wanted some tried and tested opinions on if they were 'cheap' or just 'low cost' as there is a difference!
livewire7116 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 in the parts for sale section someone is selling a 50" atlas, you can narrow these to 48 without having to buy 2 piece shafts, all you need to buy is new saddles and tramp brackets and weld them back on, you can sell you lsd english to fund a new atlas lsd unless you have a 2.8 capper one spare, i know people with 250-260 bhp escorts with atlas axles which are not FF type and not had problems its only when he went 2.5 with 325bhp he decided on FF to be on safe side
sambo Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I cant find the axle stuff on the website??? These are re-manufactured axles arent they?
