dyt397c Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Not been on here much since i sold my space-framed Anglia 105e, but got the bug back, til now! sold the 105e last year (big regret!) and bought a pinto-powered 100e. had to sell that cos my wife lost her job and we needed the money.(she still not working). got a bit of cash together by doing a few fibreglass jobs and put a deposit on a 1600 Capri. got the rest of the money together and the bloke and capri have done a vanashing act!! a couple of weeks after that, my mate said i can buy his 1955 Ford Pop project, always wanted 1 but got no money. he said cos of all the shit i`ve been through, i can have it cheap and pay him whenever i got some money, even in 2 years +!! RESULT! started collecting a few bits aswell as saving to pay for Pop, Facet fuel pump, rev-counter, shift-light, wiring loom, wheels and tyres etc etc. went into my garage this morning to do a bit on it, only to find it has been broken into to and all the bits i`ve collected are gone! the windows have been smashed, panels dented etc etc. i`m ready to give up on everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! police have been round and said its highly unlikely they`ll catch them, so thats it, new year, same old shit!! i dont know what to do now!!!! GUTTED
banarama Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 sorry to hear that mate .theres some nasty fookers uot there.
.pete. Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 i'n no expert on criminals, but it seems odd that an oppertunist thief would steal parts from an old Ford if they break into a random garage. I can understand power tools, socket and spanner sets etc which they could use or resell fairly easily, but if they took them parts they would either be onto old Fords too which would be a real coincidence, or know someone who is. I'd think whoever did it knew exactly what was in your garage somehow before they even went in there. Hope you get your bits back and find who did it, as i'm pretty sure the police never will.
dyt397c Posted January 15, 2011 Author Report Posted January 15, 2011 Don't think they knew what they were looking for, they took all my boxes of bits, aswell as angle grinder, drill, brand new welder! I've got nothing left! Other than the Pop shell and jag axle! I've put the word out to try and find who broke in. So I'll go and buy a new hammer just in case.............

GJUK Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Sorry to hear that. I hope you get your bits back, can you claim on home insurance? I had someone snooping around my garden at 2am a few months ago. one of my dogs was upset downstairs, when I went to look there was someone hiding down the side of the garage. Let the 3 dogs out and I've never seen anyone run quite that quickly before . Left half his trousers behind as the dogs just got to him as he was jumping the fence. Won't be back in a hurry rofl.
