mart67 Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 Hi there does anyone have any pics of a mk2 with standard arches on with 7.5x13 4 spokes? Midland wheels are doing a replica rim but don't know if they will go on? I can narrow my axle no bother but I'm wondering about the fronts? I know people who have moved the bottom arm pick ups in to narrow the track? Pics please

SebringRS Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 saw a pic on here the other week with exactly what you want, damned if i can find it now
mart67 Posted March 24, 2011 Author Report Posted March 24, 2011 I don't think midland wheels do different wheel offsets, I no image wheels do any offset you want but I really like the midland wheels ones but there offset is -19mm which may stick out too much?

Sorry its R&R alloys that do em in the differents offsets.
dacar Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 I took a pic of this at last years Classic Ford, it had 7.5 x 13 alloys on and its a matter of taste if it looks right. It may belong to someone on here.
down2earth Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 Try looking through google images for the 7.5 rs wheel on a unarched mk2 escort. I seem to remember a nearside rear pic of a red mk2 with them on linked to another site somewhere
SteveP Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 RS Alloys/Capri Lasers are 6x13 ET19 So, if the 7.5x13 rims have an ET of minus 19, they will stick out at least 50mm/2" or more outboard than an RS 4 spoke...Might cause you some probs if the car is lowered
dalmarshall Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Had a quick search on google images and found this one IMO 7's look wicked, 7.5's need arches really, but thats just my opinion
dynoreal Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 How goods that. The 71/2's back for sale do we know when they will be avaiable to purchase.
Mick The Cabbie Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Here's a couple of Escorts from across the Channel. I remember seeing these at Donnington Park RSOC Nat day back in the early 90's First time I'd seen 7 1/2's on an Escort. Caused me lots of dribbling on the day another of a fairly well known car I didn't realize Midland wheels where gonna be doing 7 1/2's as well
mk1super Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 How would these look on a un arched mk1 escort?
Mick The Cabbie Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 One from back in the day. Was a lovely car!!! Used an Anglia axle tho. There used to be a met blue mk1 with twincam rear arches (same as on Colin Ashtons) with 7.5's usin original Escort axle
morcheen Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 that escort mk1 had the axle narrowed because my brother fitted it all back to it.don't beleive the waffle in that mag,the bloke was a bit pissed i think i think they look better on unarched mk1's than mk2's .
Mick The Cabbie Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Just lookin at the Midland wheels website. Looks like they've slightly re-designed the 7inch RS 4spoke copy. The valve hole is now in the correct place adjacent to the spoke as opposed to being between them. Also nice to see they now do a non machined silver painted version which if my eyes dont decieve me, looks like the face of the spokes has an ever so slight curve to it as per original RS wheels, rather than the machined/diamond cut, flat edge/sharp corners that they've been supplying. Looks like they're finally doing a quite convincing copy. Be nice to see one in the flesh to get a better idea..
morcheen Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 looking into getting a set from them too prefer the painted ones .
