Jiffer Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 after doing the last few jobs on my mk2 ready for a bit of strip fun I seem to have 30mm difference in the ride height on the rear, I dont remember it being like this before I started doing the engine swap etc. I have just took the tramp bars off to see if it was that causing it and checked everything was tight, nothing obvious, any ideas on this or will it not realy make any difference. cheers
PlopPlop Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 do ya mean on one side or the whole rears up 30mmm?
Jiffer Posted April 2, 2011 Author Report Posted April 2, 2011 the fronts all ok but the drivers side rear is 30mm higher then the passenger side rear
PlopPlop Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 I did have a simular problem but it settled down after a bit of driving around, I take it shocks n springs are ok
retrorigg Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 im having a similar problem, after just having my axle out for a repaint i put it back together but used 2" blocks rather than 1.5", it doesnt look any lower in the arches than what it did b4 even tho its had chance to settle, the drivers side seems lower than the pass side by an inch or so, also ya can see the leaf springs lookin quite low when view the car from the side, i to have tramp bars on, could these be the cause of not allowing the suspension to drop properly ??????
wild pete Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 so when your sitting in it its level . no problem !!!
rallyesport04 Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 i had a similar problem when i fitted tramp bars an panhard rod an stiffer rear shocks to the escort i tried all sorts i changed the the leaf springs to new ones an cured the problem for some reason the car sat almost perfectly square before any mods
