Hi,

When I view images that have been uploaded on the threads about 30% of the right side of the image is chopped off.

I don't know why this is, I'm using the same set up that I've had for about 3 years and this is the only site I have this problem on. I have not changed any of my setting or added/removed any hardware.

I've tride hitting the "wide" options at the bottom of the page but this does not make any different. I couldn't find anything on it under FAQ and from another post I have seen today I know I'm not the only one with this issue.

Can anyone help please?

Can you post a screen shot?

What resolution is your monitor?

Is it all images or just ones on specific threads? If it's on specific threads, can you post a link to that thread.

i've only got about two thirds of the first pic....

i can't be sure because i can't see how big the pic actually is!

maybe it's a really big picture and the problem is worse than i thought!!

Vista has posted the thread that I noticed it on; http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=128316 However, it does it on all the threads where members have posted images up.

1024 X 768 pixels is my current screen resolution. The monitor is a 26" Samsung HD TV which I bought for use with my PC and have used without any issue on any site for over 3 years now.

This site will not let me post a screen shot image, I assume this is because I have less than 10 posts. Simply, the whole page displays fine and the pictures are shown in the correct resolution (it does not change the aspect of them) it is just cutting 25-30% of the right side of the images off.

I'm active on another two forums, one of which is also PHPBB and have not had these issues at all.

Any suggestions are gratefully received.

I can't tell for sure, as works firewall blocks Photobucket and Flickr pictures, but looking at the site on my phone, it's due to the sheer size of the images that are posted. I have changed a setting in the control panel which *should* fix this for all new images that are posted. As I'm at work I can't test it so can someone else give it a go?

Thanks for this - appreciated.

I can't find any photo's that have been uploaded since you've made the changes. I look a little later and will post my findings.

Thanks again. :)

You need to amend your sig as well, I've tried to do it for you but the image you're using is over the site limit of 152 pixels high (currently 165 pixels), bring it down a bit and use the IMG code from your photo bucket links and it should work

Bugger! It's still no better;

And that screen shot is about 50% less than I can see and have saved (and can view correctly) on Photobucket. Weird. :?

I've also tried a picture that I have posted on a different forum and viewed it on the preview function. It does exactly the same thing - chops about 30% of the RH side.

I'm stumped, I've never had this problem before, I've looked at all the settings in the control panel and can't see anything that could be doing it.

That's in this thread and he's missing about 10 - 15% of the pic......................which I can see fine and some :?:?

Cheers Vista, to make clear, when I view the thread itself it just chops the edge of the right wheel off.

However, if I take a screen shot and upload it to Photobucket it works and can still be viewed as per my original view of it.

If I then upload that screen shot here, as I have done, it chops even more off so you can only see one wheel as you can see. :banghead:

The pictures are fine on mine. I have no idea what's causing it.

edit: I've just changed my format to the 'narrow' view and it's cutting it off at the same place on yours.

But looking at your screen shot, your screen seems quite narrow anyway. Try pressing Ctrl and - a couple of times to zoom out and see what happens.

Thanks but it makes no difference - the aspect is the same, just smaller page over all. My screen is a 26" HD TV and so easily good enough to display wide images. The screen shot shown shows less than the actual picture if that makes sence. ie, when I posted up the screen shot it cut that already narrow picture down again. If I view the same image via Photobucket there's no problem at all and the images displays correctly and icidentally larger over all.

Like I've said, I use other forums and sites with this same set up for over three years without a single issue up to now. From some other people's posts on OSF I can see I'm not the only one having this problem on here.

There are limited display options open to me in my settings on here leaving me nothing else to try. :banghead:

N.B. I use Firefox but have just tried IE and it makes no difference at all. Except to say that IE is slower as ever...

This image is mine and displays with no problems on another forum;

IMG_0012.jpg

I can see from the preview that it's chopping about 25% off the right hand side. The photo is saved to my PC and is hosted on Photobucket and displays from both perfectly. :?:

This is the screen shot of the above image and although I can view it in the smae proportions as above, when I post it here it cuts it down again.

Difficult to know what you are and aren't seeing as I can see the whole image fine :?

In the first image I can see all of it but it stops a fraction short of showing the whole piston on the right hand side.

I'm going to have to look for a fix to this. I'm sure there are mods we can do which will automatically re-size pictures to suit the screen size. Leave it with me and I'll have a rummage around the phpbb site.

I've just installed the mod (on the Akiraka theme only. ie: not the black one) and tested it using the narrow theme, and it's resizing the pictures to fit. Could you confirm it's ok at your end?
