tina2 Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Just got a set of genuine Ford lowering blocks and U bolts [no nuts]. They are 20mm thick and still have the part number sticker on them . What might they be worth?
livewire7116 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 makes no difference if they are ford or grayston, both do same job and its something you dont see anyway, ive thrown away sets of them in the past
deltamal Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 makes no difference if they are ford or grayston, both do same job and its something you dont see anyway, ive thrown away sets of them in the past Is there much call for these now, or has something else replaced them?
SebringRS Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 My dad put grayston ones on his zephyr, and cus they're hollow, they lasted 1 hour and cracked.........guessing if the ford ones are hollow they'd do the same on a heavy car like that To be on the safe side, we got some 1.5" solid ones made, worked a treat, and again to be safe, we got some more made up for my escort too
tina2 Posted August 23, 2011 Author Report Posted August 23, 2011 The Ford ones are solid and they still have the part numbers on them. They do not look anything like the Grayston ones. If there not worth anything I can cut them for carb spacers.

You can always decamber. blocks are the more common, cheaper, quicker and easier way to lower cars that use leaf springs.
