wolfie666 Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 im removing my servo and just having a master cylinder and someone has offered me a dual circuit non servo master cylinder with rebuild kit for 20 quid?? how does it work?? any good??
escort21 Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Redo the brake lines so they are seperate, if either one fails you've still got some sort of brakes
60ftman Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 If you're removing the servo and fitting just a cylinder (of any sort) you need to make sure that you maintain 'mechanical advantage' so that the brakes continue to work. This simply means that the smaller the bore on the master cylinder is, the less pressure you'll have to put into pushing the pedal. Too small a bore however, and the pedal will be very long and soft (Fnarrrr......) Put in a cylinder with too big a bore and you'll have a lovely solid pedal, but no f**king brakes at all!!! Have fun!
wolfie666 Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 cheers for the advice. sounds tricky to figure out, a bit trial and error and that can work out expensive!!
