Yep, a mk3 Zodiac....Estate!!

The old girl is in a bit of a sorry state and will obviously be a long term project...

I know from the photos it doesn't look like much but believe it or not pretty much everything comes with the car. Albeit in bits. Apart from 2 front doors, 1 rear door and the panels that sit above the rear door frame to square them off into the roof...

The plan is to restore the body work, update the handling and do my homework on the existing higher compression engine with a bit of period straight 6 engine tuning...

Such as Triple carbs and inlet manifold, re-profiled cam, ported and polished head, if this doesn't meet expectations I may look into other engine changes or forced induction??

The natural philosophy would be to stick a V8 in it, but I still like the idea of keeping a straight 6 so things like Chrysler Hemi-6, and the American Ford Inline 6 300ci engines keep popping into my head...Even the odd  Nissan Skyline engine idea has filled my head...

Anyway its a long way off yet, im just waffling and banding around idea's at the moment...

Would it be a travesty and also a form of desecration to modify something that is, apparently, 1 of only 12, left in the country??

What would you do, if you had one?

1) If I had time, money, and luck to find one of these, I would go bananas and daydream 24/7

2) I'd do away with as much stock running gear as possible, to get rid of the headache of finding parts

3) skyline in a zodiac estate.... *cries with joy* I would definitely not go for the typical 4 cylinder though

It would be good with original engine re-furbed, squeeze the compression a bit, bigger valves, and re profiled cam,and a period 3 carb set up, I think it was Aquaplane used to make the manifolds to run SU' or Zenith carbs, would look period and go a bit! guess you would have to keep the "walking stick" exhaust manifold as it goes with the car, to keep it looking period.....

Ive noted from previous posts in forums, on the internet and alot said in general about the legend of the Aquaplane equipment and also Raymond Mays tuning.

Last month an Aquaplane inlet manifold sold on Ebay!! Doh!!

Ive looked on the Galeforce Zephyrs site and they've got some good ideas like grafting a Holley 2/4barrel onto the exsiting inlet manifold http://www.galeforcezephyrs.com/linked/holley%20carbie%20conversion.htm...

But a 6 branch would be a must as well I think...

The other thing that I saw some one write was the use of Mercedes pistons to increase compression and size to 3100cc...

Outside of the box and yes, not period could I run and EFi setup? Megasquirt and individual throttle bodies (maybe 3 from a Triumph Speed Triple with fuel pump and sensor) tapered into the Siamesed port??

Or would this be utter nonsense??
