SebringRS Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Anyone know where to get them? to fit a mk1 escort
Synergy Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 http://www.seoc.co.uk/clubshop.htm 15th item down
SebringRS Posted January 6, 2012 Author Report Posted January 6, 2012 ebay? Already tried that Synergy, close, but i meant the rear spacers, that go above the hinge to raise the rear up
RossMK2 Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Dont burton do them. I have seen some somewhere that say ford racing on them.
SebringRS Posted January 6, 2012 Author Report Posted January 6, 2012 They say fit mk4/5/6, so dunno if they fit mk1
RossMK2 Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 You lazy Now, you go garage get some steel and drill two holes in it cut it to size and file it flat.
SebringRS Posted January 6, 2012 Author Report Posted January 6, 2012 You lazy Now, you go garage get some steel and drill two holes in it cut it to size and file it flat. I gotta get the lights working first, only took them out to rub a bit of rust down, put them back in, only one light works, and only my 3rd brake light works, and got no indicators And yes, the bulbs arent blown
SebringRS Posted January 6, 2012 Author Report Posted January 6, 2012 Not a clue found it out about 8 this evening, so i called it a day and gunna start again tomorrow
Admin Vista Posted January 6, 2012 Admin Report Posted January 6, 2012 Why do you want to raise the rear of the bonnet up?
The Transplanter Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Why do you want to raise the rear of the bonnet up? Beat me to it! If its just for looks then dont, its a look I hate (to JDM for my liking), if its to help engine bay temps or clearence cant you work around it another way?
SebringRS Posted January 7, 2012 Author Report Posted January 7, 2012 I would love to say its for engine temp, but it isnt.....yet Its more to help future plans
rallyesport04 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Why do you want to raise the rear of the bonnet up? would blended in bonnet vents look better than a 'open bonnet' look? i personaly think so

442 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Probably am i going too? no I did mate........wanna template?
rallyesport04 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 If its for engine bay temps then I think pressed louvers are more in keeping. i was very reluctant to fit bonnet vents im still unsure if i like them but i need them to keep the engine bay temps down
Admin Vista Posted January 7, 2012 Admin Report Posted January 7, 2012 I considered both bonnet vents and pressed louvres and decided that the latter are more in keeping with vintage sports cars (Bentleys, D types E types etc) and went with a set of 3 door Cosworth vents in the bonnet. I'm happy I made the right choice (for me anyway).
SebringRS Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 Probably am i going too? no I did mate........wanna template? You have a text mate
The Transplanter Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Are you guys realy struggling with temps that much that your having to fit vents?? My MK1 Caddy is just shy of 400bhp, its get a bit toasty in there but has never caused a problem even after 20k miles
