frankthefencer Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 My car has just had its Tarmac arches and gp4 spoiler fitted. Do I try and hide the rivets or fill them over for a smooth look ?? I have seen some cars that leave the rivets exposed and some that lose them. My only worry is that if I try and lose them the small bit of filler may shake out over time. Your expertise and thoughts always appreciated .......
frankthefencer Posted March 31, 2012 Author Report Posted March 31, 2012 I have looked into this. The prepfab Stobart liveried escort has them smoothed over as well as a few other well prepped cars. Then I have also seen quite a few that leave them exposed. Just don't want to get it wrong!!!
turnover Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 you could do them as i did and use small alan key bolts with correct sink washers and nylock nuts, look good and easier to replace arch if its damaged ,but i will warn you takes a couple or so hours per arch to bolt up

DanMk2 Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 My arches are all blended in, but i think it depends what look your going for Heres mine...
James HPE Motorsport Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 On a black car Frank, I think it needs to be smoothed over!
Dan492 Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 We made the mistake of smoothing over ours..... After 5 years of hammering on stage rallies, they have started to crack through and become exposed again....so keep them exposed!
frankthefencer Posted April 2, 2012 Author Report Posted April 2, 2012 My car is going to be white!!! I think I will leave them exposed.

frankthefencer Posted April 2, 2012 Author Report Posted April 2, 2012 Probably because the engine your dad is building for me is black and silver. I want everything that colour as it will look nice on a crisp white car. Gonna do all the brake and fuel ends in piano black as well to have continuity throughout the whole build.
