Posse Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 I have been told that if you car out of road tax your insurance is invalid ? Is this true.
Admin Vista Posted May 6, 2012 Admin Report Posted May 6, 2012 Are you sure someone isn't confusing the new rules about insurance and road tax? i.e. Any vehicle must be insured unless it's SORN'd or has been kept off road since before SORN came into force in 1998 http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ow ... /DG_186696
Andy44Boz Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Your insurance will say that it only covers a fully road legal car, unless you have off road cover (separate for cars only used summertime etc). if you only tax it 6 months then your supposed to tell the insurers it's in storage the rest of the time. That'll cover you if it gets nicked from your garage etc when not taxed
damian1969josh Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 insurance companys will do anything to not pay out so car has to be road legal.did u know that if your van or lorry is overloaded and you are involved in a accident you are not insured and they will not pay out ...
