Never heard of that before. Is it just this forum it does it on or does do it on others? Or even simply when you use the keyboard in any application. Try switching your screen saver off altogether and see if that makes a difference. And of course do the usual sweep for viruses, trojans and malware.

Have you tried another keyboard? Open notepad and see if typing there causes the same problem. Do you mean screensaver or desktop I don't know how good you are with pcs so I mean no offence. But there are a couple of viruses that will cause your browser to close on key press, but it's more of a prank. If you want to go to the restore function it'll be F8 keep hitting it when you switch the thing on, go to "repair your computer" and follow the restore instructions but back up important files first. Or go to "safe mode" and see if you can run system restore and restore it back to when you didn't have this issue.

If it is a suspected virus get this onto a usb stick from your mates pc and plug it into yours and run it from there. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/downloa ... s/combofix

It's a first for me and this is my day job. :?

I remebered something just as i was nodding off last night. If your computer has Internet explorer 9 and intel video drivers. Go to internet options in control panel and turn on gpu rendering. It is an intel driver problem. Hope you get back on soon.

press f5 as your com is booting going into safe mode then do a system restore

F8 you mean?

If you've only had it a few weeks take it back and let the store sort it, if you have the restore dvd's you could try these to set the computer back to its 'off the shelf' state. Backup your data though.

Sorry,

System full restore then if you've tried an anti virus first with no joy.

Wipe it all start again.
