sab6024 Posted February 25, 2007 Author Report Posted February 25, 2007 yea u bring your capper but like duchyboy said theres round abouts and u know what happended in that escort Escort? sounds like there's a story to tell here, don't be shy and spill the beans OK but this is the last I want to hear of it....... I had a little Blue 1300 Mk1 Escort as my first car. Kept it on the road for 2 years before I met this guy (also with a Mk1 and a Sit up and Beg Pop). I took him out in said Escort and drove like a T**T (trying too hard to impress). I lost it on a roundabout hit a Cornish Hedge and by the time the car stopped moving I was looking at the road from the drivers door window. We got out pushed her back on her wheels and towed her home. Looking at the damage it wasn't that bad really. Was gonna carry out the repair work but unfortuately a not so safe wall beat us to it. It fell over, crushing poor Escort underneath. Now the boys won't let me forget it. Let's put it this way, I was gutted so I won't be making that mistake again.
Admin Vista Posted February 25, 2007 Admin Report Posted February 25, 2007 Ouch! For those of you that aren't from around errre, Cornish hedge is a very misleading term. They've usually got a very ungiving dry stone wall hidden in the middle of them. My dad found that out to his cost in about 1976 in a mk3 Cortina, he still moans about how it was the other guys fault 31 years later!
trissybabes Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 Do you want those Escy pics adding to your profile page on the DCC website Sab? Reckon a bit of T-cut would have sorted that...
escpri Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 Do you want those Escy pics adding to your profile page on the DCC website Sab? Reckon a bit of T-cut would have sorted that... hey! tris i think you are taking the p#ss mate, WHAT A WASTE OF AN OLD FORD
escpri Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 Sabrina theres no point in hiding the evidence under a wall, wots done is done, no more will be said
sab6024 Posted February 25, 2007 Author Report Posted February 25, 2007 I'm glad it will all be over now. It happened over 7 years ago and I had to put up being called a screwdriver then. Tris, I don't think there is any need to add the photos to the site. Not really a great selling point. So Steve.......can I take your Capper out now then?

trissybabes Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Do you want those Escy pics adding to your profile page on the DCC website Sab? Reckon a bit of T-cut would have sorted that... hey! tris i think you are taking the p#ss mate, WHAT A WASTE OF AN OLD FORD I'm with you Steve! Not good to see OSF's meet their fate like that. Mind you, those infamous Cornish hedges have killed a few of my cars too - nasty one at Hayle leapt out in front of me about 10 years ago. Killed the Mini I was in. Still, made for a steep learning curve. Never approach corners too fast in the wet - especially when your NSR wheel locks under braking... Still - good new was that I traded that Mini in for the first of many Capri's... Sab, I wouldn't dare add those pics - don't worry. It will never be mentioned again.
escpri Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 that was not a nasty cornish hedge at Hayle it done you a bloody favour, anyway at least you saw sense and got a capri Sabrina 10 out of 10 for trying NO NO and NO
duchy boy Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 AS I SAID lets get back to the main subject and make this the biggest Classic Ford gathering ever seen in the South West.
