jeevest Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 Glad they got it back, shame it's in such a state. I read on fb someone was thinking of starting up a fund to help rebuild it , I think that's a great idea and would give to it .
escortmad79 Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 I assume this wasn't insured ? Seems a bit strange as im sure most of us would make sure a £15k is fully insured ? They had it on a trade policy 1
Savvi Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 That's a big lesson learnt then, ive had mine on a trade policy but as they have gone up in prices decided to go agreed value.
mk2xflow Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 trade policys are basically only used to trade cars on ,not really suitable for classic cars and the like ,all youl ever get is a rock bottom offer from trade insurance ,I know that because I had a trade policy for over 20 yrs unless you pay a hefty premium not worth bothering with your better off with an agreed value policy with a classic car insurance specialist
Savvi Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 Yep ive had mine for about the same and it was fine until the prices went up and up, now I guess they would try to offer scrap value knowing insurers these days
stuartp Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 amazing (and great) that it turned up after all that time I hope someone gets punished for it but in my experience I highly doubt it
mark reed ford Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Great to see the car recovered, I hope those responsible are suitably punished. I know how I would feel if it happened to me! We all spend a great deal of time effort and money on our cars either to bring them up to scratch or modify them, with values rising we all become targets for the unscrupulous criminals looking to make money, I personally have decided to insure the car all year round and get the value agreed by the insurance company. We all have a part to play here by fitting extra security to the lock-ups and cars when we can't be with them, we have to make it as hard as possible for criminals.
