Camera's throughout the area are being checked, these images came from a local hotel.

Do you know which hotel? I grew up in that area, and if nothing else it will give an idea of the direction it was travelling in!

Been pointed out elsewhere that it looks to be a standard Astra Sportive van

if its an astra G then it cant be a sportive. didnt they just come in silver. ? if its an astra H then i think the sportives only came in silver or black. dont remember seeing a white one. could be wrong tho. even so i reacon its still a distinctive van and should get recognised.

well to me it looks like an astra H. they do sportives in white (just checked) but cant be to many about. :?

Its a "H" as you can tell by the black insert on the front bumper, the wheels look like vauxhall snowflakes but bit blurry to be certain.

To me it looks like an Irish travellers type of van, there is an abundance of them living in large houses around the Pinner/Hatchend/Stanmore corridor. They all drive late vans all tonsed up!

we best be a bit careful mate. talking about vauxhalls like we know them well............on here!!

Lol google images are your friend

This is a H and it has the same black bit in the bumper, which the "G" doesnt

Re. Car theft!!!!!!

I have heard that other people in cosworths and oldskool cars have been followed by this White van in question. I don't know everyone but I need everyone to repost or spread the word of this message. Please can anyone who has seen this van, or been followed by it please in box me the details and locations and times and dates. I

Trying to place together a target area they use to possibly narrow down a street by street search.

Thank u all for ur help.

Apparently the escort RS cosworth that was stolen last night, may have been linked to the same people, but yeah if you see this white van and its following you, keep driving and contact the above people to let them know, im sure they'd like to see the driver too :thumbsup:

Apparently a few people have stopped and asked why the van was following them, and the driver replied with "im lost"

Please be careful with ongoing events on this gang on this forum as its "public" as in anyone can see it on the web. And the "white van gang could be reading this right now.

reg number : X117 GVV was identical to the van in question. i hope it helps

Reg relates to a mk4 Astra LS van, quite similar in shape but older than the one in the pictures

Sebring Red Cosworth powered Mk1 Escort YBH811J stolen in September 2012 has been RECOVERED fairly stripped,  2 miles from where it was taken from. Wearing different plates & still with the owners hoody in the back!! Recovered almost 2 years after it was taken

** STATEMENT FROM THE OWNERS OF THE MK1 ESCORT STOLEN TWO YEARS AGO FROM AK AUTOMOTIVE**

The car has been found. We received a tip some hours ago that a mk1 escort matching the description of ours was spotted at a location in the South East that we will not disclose. Andrew went to ID the car and it still had his owner's club affiliation jumper laying on the floor of it. We will not name anyone involved however they have been given seven days to provide proof of purchase to the police and failing this they will be arrested. If it is produced the investigation will continue in to who stole or assisted in the theft of the vehicle and sold it on.

On to the bad news. The following has been removed and is still missing- Stage 3 Cosworth Engine and all peripherals and transmission. The front has only the inner wings remaining. The wheels, seats and roll cage are also all gone. We don't yet know the full extent of loss or damage but it's safe to say that it has devalued this custom built Classic Mexico which was valued at around £15k when stolen.

We will be taking all the legal action available to us and will be attempting to reclaim costs however it is unlikely we will succeed in getting back the full value from the criminals. Sadly we cannot really afford to rebuild the car to it's former glory and we have not planned what will happen to it going forward however please do not make purchase offers or suggestions.

It is being recovered today to be stored in a safe location at clear the opposite end of the country where it will be under surveillance until such a time where it can be made rolling again.

Despite some relief it is an extremely emotional time for us and the financial and emotional damage that this theft has caused us is immeasurable. It has caused countless sleepless nights, tears and worry not to mention the closure of AK Automotive as a full time sited business. The car was the reason myself and Andrew met, our pride and joy and a big part of our relationship as we are both avid car lovers.

We would like to thank all of the people who shared concern and tried to find the car when it first went missing whether that was through media campaigning or coming out in dozens of vehicles trawling the dark streets at night looking for it for weeks. We cannot begin to repay your kindness and we're sorry that it has come back in such a state that we may not be able to afford the repairs It is likely to be a long time before it is driveable or appreciable again to the public which is a shame as it was very well known and loved in it's Classic Ford circle and did a lot of shows over the years.

Glad they got it back, but such a shame to see it stripped, it does however give an insight of what happens to these cars when they go missing !!!

I assume this wasn't insured ? Seems a bit strange as im sure most of us would make sure a £15k is fully insured ?
