Poor old Edd.......

Was just on another forum where they absolutely slated Edd China.

 

OK, so his profit margins are a bit thin and I doubt many of you Capri owners will be calling him for a respray..... but I put most of his shortcuts down to fat boy !!

 

I think it's good viewing, not great, but easy on the mind after a day at work. A few tips he's had worked out great for me.

 

 

Question is, if Edd opened a Classic Ford workshop at the end of your road, would you take your OSF to him??????????

Yes as he's clearly an old skool mechanic who knows his stuff, but I wouldn't for body or paint work. There's a new series of Wheeler Dealers on soon isn't there?

Seen that episode i think thats when they were doing it on a shoe string on the evidence of of later episodes when they have a better budget i would allow Edd to work on my car just not paint it

My general opinion from watching it is edd is alright, mike is such a idiot though (the first few words I used to describe him all got changed by the word filter! ha ha

I overheard Edd telling someone at the NEC classic show that in the first series ( capri ) he did not know he could say to the production bods NO!!! he was asked about the capri wing and paint + he just went along with it at the time. I think he has a lot more say in the cars that get bought now. He seems an ok bloke to me + yes he is a good mechanic imo,

as this is an "entertainment" type program i think its ok. But Mike does do my head in too with the way he shouts " WEY HEY HEY LOOK AT THAT! " everytime he sees a car, or he says to the seller this is fabulous it drives really well " will you take 3 grand less ?" One thing that does annoy me with Edd thinking about it is the way he sprays on some stonechip or satin black onto a part and says " as good as new" well its not is it ? the other rusty bits you have left around it make it look like a car salesman when he paints the tyres.

I met Ed & Mike when i was doing Top Gear Live ....... both really nice guys and friendly, spoke to them more in 10 mins then i did Jezzer in 6 months of doing the show with him

 

 

I dont watch Tg anymore as all the good and truthful bits are cut out by someone who dont know much about cars in the editing suite, im guessing it will be the same, it was for scrapheap challenge i was told

way i see the program is to show people that they can buy these cars and with some mechanical savvy actually spend less than market value, just watched the one where they bought a morgan and made over £6k profit
