GJUK Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 ..... is driving me mad. Two gas refills in 5 days and I've hardly done feck all. How do you get registered with BOC or whatever for a hoofing great bottle?? Walk in, take proof of identity and address, register, pay for your bottle (monthly rate) then use it, pay for it to be refilled. Easy and quite 'costly' unless you're doing a lot of welding.
DAZZA Posted September 18, 2012 Author Report Posted September 18, 2012 Many thanks for that, any ideas how much payments are?
GJUK Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Many thanks for that, any ideas how much payments are? I had a bottle for about 18 months, around erm 5-6 years ago. I think, it was about 10 pounds per month. Ish. For a large bottle this is, which I never really justified.
DAZZA Posted September 18, 2012 Author Report Posted September 18, 2012 Sounds cheap enough. Thanks again.
Savvi Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 This may help you ............ i found it expensive for what it was, i got a pub bottle which i get filled now. http://www.boconline.co.uk/en/contact-a ... index.html
mk2harrier Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 its a dam sight more expensive than that now. there are cheaper alternatives. the cheapest being just use co2 or pubgas as its called which you might be able to get from your local boozer if you ask nicely, or from welding companies you can buy small bottles, i use wellington welding in plymouth, £40 refundable deposit on the bottle and £36 to refill less than a 3rd of the price at BOC. hope this helps. http://www.wellyweld.com/products/hobbyweld-5-gas-fill-charge-72531.aspx
DAZZA Posted September 18, 2012 Author Report Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks to you both. A mate has just come up with a bottle for me, but good to know for future reference
The Transplanter Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks to you both. A mate has just come up with a bottle for me, but good to know for future reference BOC are a ripoff, there are cheaper alternatives for hobbiests like http://adamsgas.co.uk/ Word of warning: If your mate has found you a BOC bottle and you open an account with them they will still charge you bottle rental! As they own the bottles regardless of where you got it from.
moredoorAsh Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 As above mate i now use adams gas, delivered to your door
