ESCORT MK1 RS2000 SEATS

Hi i have just got a mk1 escort RS2000 set of recaro seats and they look as if they have a blue tint to them.Does anybody know if this is how they should be ?????????????????????

No, they should be beta cloth and black. Though it could be faded. Technically the mk1 RS seats aren't Recaro but people do often refer to them as such. Post up a picture if your can?

They're definitely the right kind of seat and as Savvi said, they discolour slightly as they fade with age

I just got them back yesterday from being re-trimmed,but look like they are blue pin stripe ????????????????????

Who retrimmed them? Betacloth should be black.

These are the seats from my mexico when i was stripping it down for its restoration.They do fade but i would say it fades more grey than blue.

There are many variations of the repro beta cloth being used.Some of it like yours does have a blue tint to it.

Luckily i managed to secure a roll of genuine ford beta cloth that had been carefully stored for over 30 years and i had my seats retrimmed with it.I think you can see the difference in the pics below.

Yes it did (along with other colours) you can tell if the seats should be blue as the vinyl part of the seat will also be blue
