Admin Mk2Jo Posted January 11, 2013 Admin Report Posted January 11, 2013 .. overnight from midnight to 5am in residential areas in Dorset from today . . In Hampshire the street lights are to be dimmed during these hours. Good idea or not?? Savings will be in excess of £5 million in 25 years... Not sure I would be happy about my 18 year old walking home in the dark after hours :-?
Stiggy Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Muggings, Crime, Rapes. The list is endless hope the No Win No Fee shambles get a hold of it. Watch the electric prices sore.

w p e Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 they just put new lamp post in my road for no reason the old ones worked fine when i asked why they weren't solar powered now so would cost fook all to run alls i got was . councils aint got a fooking clue
willsy Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 I live in a conservation area. The council have had two conservation officers every tuesday for two months surveying the area to decide which roads will have traditional style replacement lamp posts over modern style posts. Nothing like money well spent

The Transplanter Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Im right of the Surrey/Hants Border and last year they fitted the new LED type lights, and the one outside my house is like a bloody lighthouse (all night) Lights up all my cars on the drive for everyone to see
Admin Vista Posted January 14, 2013 Admin Report Posted January 14, 2013 When I was younger I had a street light quite close to my bedroom window, it used to get "turned off" regularly!
