trevb Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 First off just want to say hi to all! Its been a bloody cold winter and I'm sure lots of people on here have been out working on their car at some point : ) So.... I think most of you have seen what happened at the summer Wingspan show last year, and what happened was a massive shock to me to say the least, and I count myself very very luck that no one was hurt. But every cloud has a silver lining.... And even after destroying Darren's pride and joy all he wanted to do was help! I don't think I'll be able to thank him enough. Top Top Bloke! So after a bit of a chit chat with Paul Mags the car was stripped and sent off to paint. I know this car is not going to be to everyone's taste, but I really couldn't be happier with it. But feel free to say what you think hehe. Now time for some pics... As we knew her.... And now..... Now time for some arty pics I'm fitting the engine tomorrow and hope to back on the road by Friday fingers crossed.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted January 29, 2013 Admin Report Posted January 29, 2013 Well done m8 .... I think its the only way you could make it your own car and I am sure Darren will be happy its gone to a good home! You could say that maybe what happened at Wingspan was meant to be as it looks great now m8 - well done!8-)8-)8-)
Mrs O/H/C Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 What happened at Wingspan was a freaky accident but as you said no one got hurt Looking very nice now
The Transplanter Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 I think its the only way you could make it your own car That^^^^^ I liked it before from when I see it at the Chelsea cruise some time back, but looks just as good now and you wont get people keep reminding you that its Darrens old motor! Time to change the thread title to "My New Motor"

windymiller Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 That looks perfect! Never been a fan of that airbrushing-style on cars. Looks like it should now! What happened then? I saw a vid of the bonnet flying off - something worse?
popeye Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 it's looking better than before and it's BLUE LOOKS VERY NICE FELLA .......
Tom E Cropp Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Awesome car! I think it looked cool in orange and the airbrush work was amazing, but the blue suits the mk1! Looks so clean and fresh! It's nice now you've put your own stamp on it! Nice work
trevb Posted January 30, 2013 Author Report Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks for all the nice comments the paint is Ford Grabber Blue they used it on the early Mustangs and some new ones. I finally got the engine in today and it was nice to see the front sitting a bit lower only a few days to go and it'll be back on the road aint that darrens old car?
jayremedy Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 TBH that car would look great in any colour, but that blue is very nice indeed
5tox Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 forgive my ignorance but what happened at the wingspan show? I really like the black rear bumper and light surrounds, looks menacing
