flyingbanana Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 is refusing to come out for me...and stopping the car being stripped...only bolt holding axle etc to the shell......got it to turn but it seems to be seized on to the leaf spring collar.....i have welded a O to it and used my sliding hammer on it...tried pushing it out....heating it and still no luck......and no room to saw it .............only other idea i have is make a puller that hooks over the chassis rail and hooks on to the O and pulls it.....but i suspect the metal around the area is prob not the best condition to have pressure applied to it .............any ideas
shaun1.6ghia Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Think you got the best ideas anyways. Make the puller to go behind it or use a adaption of a hub puller maybe?. Maybe a little heat? If its rotten there you won't want to be putting any shiny clean parts back on until its solid anyways so it's best to find out now
4-Door Pete Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 Could you use a very thin cutting disc to carefully cut the bolt either side of the spring?
welshmike Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 if you cant get at it with with a disc, maybe a reciprocating saw? thats what i used when i couldnt get mine out
