Has the price of fuel affected your motoring hobby at all? Do you think twice now before for going to a show or event? :?

Yes. Anything like the Lakes tour is completely out of the question from down here. Classic Ford is in doubt too as my fuel bill to get up there and back last year (with Van on trailer) was a shocker.

Okay ... so what do you give up in place if your extended fuel bill? Family days out? Family holidays? Food shopping? Or are you all loaded? :-D

Don't really have family days out unless its car related. Haven't had a family holiday for about 10 years :-(

yeah but you did say you'd like to come to malta with us lot

We have family days out most weekends and often both days. I wouldn't give them up for anything. I'll have plenty if time for car days when my kids are Harry Enfield style sulky teenagers but right now when they still look to me for fun times, I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. I don't ever go out drinking anymore and quit smoking ten years ago so they count as savings.

Fortunately however my 4 year old does seem to enjoy "Daddy's black van"

I can raise you on that to I've been taking the bus

And just as I start to use the local bus service they announce that they're axing it and replacing it with a bus to the local hospital! Useful for the 0.1% of the time that I'm sick or dying, but about as welcome as a fart in a dry suit for the rest of the time!!

Hmmm, a few years to go before that happens.......................and I reckon by then you'll need to be about 120 to qualify for it!
