This is not to really do with my OSF but could do with some help!!

I have two old BSA Bantam motorbikes which i have had since i was a kid pretty much. Just put them on ebay as a pair with a £400 reserve. Someone pretty much bidded the reserve straight away so i looked at stuff he was selling and he's selling registration plates for loadsa money!!

Am i gonna be bumped?? Maybe i should sell them for more?? Dont understand how the whole thing works??

Number plates are "416 BTM" & "WOW 36J"

All money i get is going in the engine and slipper fund for the escy!!!

to put a registration on retention the vehicles gotta be on the road (tax test and insured) if i can be transferred that is.

you might make more selling the Reg with a 'free' bike. especially the 'wow' one

if the plates are transferable, the buyer will make a mint.enquire on some reg transfer sites about values.sell the plates on there own.i'm thinking of doing the same on my car before i sell it.some people fuss over the original reg,but it's just a number plate, that someone might pay well for,so why not put the money in your own pocket. 8)

Are the bikes taxed & MOT'd ?

You cant transfer a plate without the vehicle they are coming off being 'road legal'

Dont think you are going to make a mint on plates... I've been trying to sell 4451 UR for ages and cant even get £500 for it.

They are free money.. but they dont bring the money they used to.

The BTM one is nice to have on a Bantam though :)

Thats crap ALL the prices on the sites are so over inflated and they always give you a faulse high valuation to get you to go with them i have had NOT 2 94Y on loads of sites for 2 years even though they say its worth £2k i cant find a buyer at £800

true the prices are picked out of the sky,but if your selling them on the bike no harm to quote the inflated price the reg companys gave you. up to the buyer to do their own research :)

I will have a word with my old man hes got a few bantums, thing is if you take the numbers off or whatever it might affect the price of the bike, people like the orginal number plates in those circles :D

if you pull the sale .

put the numbers on retention then list them seperately on ebay .

and then sell the bikes with the new numbers on .

you can only sell the original numbers once . so the new numbers on the bike are nontransferable .

if you think the bikes are going to sell for the same price regardless of the number though go for it
