Pan Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 Hi my insurance company need an agreed value done on my mk1 escort at present it is only at £2,500 which i dont think is enough any one know where i can get this done and obviously give me a letter confiming this , they would need to be part of a club that has fords in it , many thanks jon. below is my escort taken last week +
GJUK Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 You agreed a value of £2500 with them, for the car in the photos?!?!?!!!!!111 You'd be better off removing the agreed value and getting market rate for that. My car has an agreed value of £18000. It's a mk1 2 dr which has recently been rebuilt. Phone your insurance company, advise you want this changing ASAP and send them 6 or so photos (they will advise) Also, do you keep that on the road?!?!?!?!?!?! Crazy. 1
sidpf1972 Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 18 k for a mk1 is a lotus or a RSI 1600 fair play there both nice motors

deadly456 Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 I would like to know how to get a proper valuation as i nearly finished my MK1 RS2000 with nut and bolt rebuild back to factory spec
Pan Posted May 31, 2013 Author Report Posted May 31, 2013 I phoned them up and have set it now at £7,500 , has cost me an extra £3 a month but they still need a letter just to confirm its an accurate value . Found a few company's that do that type of thing for around £100 .
skeeter Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 I used a specialist vehicle appraiser from an auction house to give me a valuation and condition report. This was accepted as good evidence for my agreed value. S

Mrs O/H/C Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 Not having actually seen the car but I think it's probably worth more than 7.5 k in today's market
Admin Vista Posted May 31, 2013 Admin Report Posted May 31, 2013 18 k for a mk1 is a lotus or a RSI 1600 fair play there both nice motors No way, if you're talking about a mint genuine Lotus or RS1600 escort, your target for an agreed value needs to be much higher, circa £35 to £40k. A mk1 RS2000 in similar condition is now somewhere between £18 and £25k

The registrars used to do valuations on the day, probably still do.
deadly456 Posted June 1, 2013 Report Posted June 1, 2013 Thanks for that vista, was looking somewhere round there as i seen a few for sale around £25k and i think mine has turned out better than them

Yours is a four door, unless it's an original one off mexico or similar, I would expect you could insure that for around the £10k mark. More if it's running a top spec cossie and other bespoke gear. Aim high .
