SmokeEm Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 How do you guys carry round your tool boxes in the boot of your OSF? I have nowhere except the boot to keep them but don't want the chest to slide around. Also, bungees aren't strong enough. What do you do? Pics if poss

SmokeEm Posted June 11, 2013 Author Report Posted June 11, 2013 You are all missing the point. I actually WANT to carry all my tools with me as I do not have a shed or anywhere to keep them..

Escort Mk1 4 Door Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 im thinkgin of having a welded in box in the boot where the tank was on mk1
welshmike Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Ive got a tool bag i can fit everything i need in and it fits nicely in the rear footwell, behind the passenger seat. Tools in a bag dont rattle and clang around like in a box either wich is a bonus, If its a big tool box you have that has to go in the boot, then maybe put a few eyebolts in the floor you could tie/ratchet strap it to? thats what i did when i was carrying all my tools in my Land Rover.
texr2000 Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 i carry a 15 quid (with trade) 1/4 drive set from halfords, ideal as also a screwdriver, and a 13mm & 14mm spanner. oh and of course elec tape and zip ties and some wire. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_177537_langId_-1_categoryId_255215
stuartp Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 got all my bits and bobs in one of those plastic fold down boxes, the carpet and the weight of the box stops it from sliding. the jack, jerry can, emergency battery charger, jump leads, tow rope, spare clutch cables, first aid kit and air pump that I also carry around with me but don't fit in the box do all move around though!
SmokeEm Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 Yep, think i am gonna get one of them plastic flip boxes with tray. This is all weird to me - After selling the Capri 5 yrs ago, I got rid of ALL my tools and everything coz I hate clutter. Every time I have needed a screwdriver I have had to go and buy one lol. Now I am buying another OSF, I am having to buy the whole lot again!! I have on my list so far, Halfords socket set, pliers set, spanners, mole grips, electrical tester, screwdriver set, trim clip remover and anything else I can think of lol
Admin Vista Posted June 12, 2013 Admin Report Posted June 12, 2013 I have on my list so far, Luscious Linda (deluxe inflatable model with real hair and sound effects) and anything else I can think of lol O.........K.........does she change spark plugs too then? 1
SmokeEm Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 Who cares Scott?? Hopefully she'll be as good as the real thing!
mk2 mike Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 Halfords were doing an offer last weekend (not sure if they still are) 1/2 price on their professional range. I picked up a 170 piece socket/spanner set for £125. Well chuffed.
