omj624p Posted August 23, 2013 Report Posted August 23, 2013 ...and I have the bill of sale to prove it. I've owned this car since 2004 and had lots of fun with it, however recently it's just spending all its time locked up in a garage. A car like this needs to be out and enjoyed. My circumstances have changed recently and I no longer have the time to spare for this. I'm ultra paranoid about where I keep this and who knows about it, so if you're after a viewing it will have to be at a car-park nearby. This is a lovely car, it's great to drive. I recently did a trip of over 300 miles which it did faultlessly. There are no dints in the doors as I never park it in public car parks, ever! It's not concourse, there's a few bits that could do with tidying, I've just not gotten round to them yet. During the last 24 months all I've had done is replace the rear wheel bearings and the diff bearings. Otherwise the car is mechanically fine. It's MOT'd and Taxed and can be driven away. This is the only proper RS Alloy... I really don't like getting it wet I only tax it for the 6 months over summer. The car hasn't changed much since I bought it, it did come with some nice modifications though...Thatcham Cat1 alarm/immobiliserYale locks on boot and doorsStrut braceRoll cageBonnet pinsElectronic ignitionElec fuel pumpFuel pressure regulatorBearing strut topsBilstein shocks2" Lowered front and rear Cylinder head from the Injection so can run on unleaded and has larger ports145lb springsDouble width anti-dive kitBattery relocated to boot5 speed gearboxOil coolerVented discsBraded hosesK&N air filterScorpion Exhaust The photo below is an old shot, the drivers seat is much nicer now but does still have one small hole still. Back in 2005 I took it on the strip at Santa Pod (My first and last ever try at this...) Not bad for a standard 2.0 engine... In 2006, 2007 and 2008 Classic Ford and Retro Cars used it in their promotional bits... Then Dolce & Gabnana paid me to bring it to London for a photoshoot for an advert that appeared in TEN Magazine in 2010. Sorry for the rubbish photo below, I wasn't allowed to take photos! Erm.... I've got the magazine... And of course it made a few appearances on the TV in an episode of Ashes to Ashes...I have the entire episode on my PC and can supply it too on DVD/Memory stick if required... The video can be seen here.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=M7cYAIHCKrs I'm looking in the region of £8000 for this RS. Equally I'm kinda happy keeping it in the garage but it just saddens me that someone else could be enjoying it as it deserves to be I don't come on OSF very often nowadays, if you're interested then it's best to text me on 07889 802355The car is in Hertfordshire. Thanks for looking. Steve 1
petrolhead28 Posted August 23, 2013 Report Posted August 23, 2013 I have never been into escorts but that is a lovely car. Very tempted.
Col-ashtonmobile Posted August 23, 2013 Report Posted August 23, 2013 bargain well worth the money...
Paul_G Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 I thought this would have sold straight away at that price. It's a great car I have driven it once in the past and it goes and handles very well. This car is deffo a great investment opportunity being a genuine RS2000 that would only take a little effort if you wanted to reverse the modifications and take it back to original.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 4, 2013 Admin Report Posted September 4, 2013 This is a real bargain ..... shame you're selling but good luck
Fletcherer Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 Is this in st. albans?! I swear to god I saw a yellow RS2000 on a lowloader go past my house.
Mickey Stewart Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Lovely car and a great price, very surprised this has not sold already.
omj624p Posted October 4, 2013 Author Report Posted October 4, 2013 Hi all. Sorry, I've decided to hang on to the car for now. I'll put it on sorn for winter as always and see how I feel next year. I got as far as people wanting to come and see it, and then the thought that someone may be driving off in it was just too much and I couldn't go through with it Thanks for all the interest and positive comments. omj624p Posted May 5, 2014 Author Report Posted May 5, 2014 Hi A bit of an update, my lad is one year old in a few days. I think I'd like to hang on to the RS (money permitting) at least until he is old enough to remember it and say ''My Dad had an RS'' And hopefully get some photos of him with it.I doubt it'll come out of the garage this year, which is a shame Thanks for all the interest.
