Help to identify Door Cards

Even though they're in relatively good condition [apart from the hideous speaker]  I'd like to replace the door cards on my 1968 mk1 Escort as part of its new overhaul.

 

I've been on http://www.aldridge.co.uk to order some replacements but the ones currently on my vehicle are not on offer

 

Can anyone identify these door cards please? Are they even off a mk1 Escort?

They are the correct type for an early mk1 Escort. Unless you're determined to be 100% original, I'd just fit the ones that Aldridge can offer.

All non AVO models, and possibly some that were from the AVO factory, as far as I'm aware.Aldridge list three types, but as you say, not that early type

there deffo early ones     boreham seemed to use these on the rally cars for some reason this one is LVX942J

aldridge do new ones there £150 on e bay also escort tec have a set of door cards for £88 that style too

Nothing like my door cards that are in my 68 mk1 mine are like twincam ones

I must have missed them. The only ones I can find on the escort tec website are these

which are nothing like mine  and are for a Capri anyway.

Those are capri ones you've posted a link to. Google Aldridge trimming and they have three different types of them. Yours won't look out of place with the twin cam ones, I doubt anyone would notice, or even if they did, they wouldn't care.

It does seem strange that I can buy pretty much anything else for the car but not ye olde door cards

I've spent 3 hrs online trying to find a match for my door cards but still no luck!!

Just because YOU want them doesn't mean anyone actually makes them! You might have to resort to taking them to a bespoke trimmer to effectively 're-manufacture' a pair but its unlikely to be cheap. Sometimes a sideways upgrade to what is available but in keeping with the age is appropriate?

You have to agree it's somewhat strange that I can buy pretty much absolutely everything else for the car; from body panels to grommets and screws but not a door card?

If it was a negative cambered foofoo valve I was after fair play. But door cards??

A bespoke trimmer might be my only option. Next step is to find one of those!!

Any ideas???

So Aldridge do offer them. Strange that they don't list them on their website
