in a mk2 I'd say go modern but the mk1 just looks right with the old seats in to me (mine still has the original brown plastic seats it presumably left the factory with)

 

headrests, side bolsters and crash protection be damned!

Thanks 442, chap from Newcastle did them for me. I was very pleased and will keep them over originals, more support especially for my neck, I drove 160 mile round trip in more comfort than my 1300e standard Escort.

Credit where credit due fella, i bought some low back retro fixed buckets for mine but worst thing ever!! Numb right leg after about half hour of driving as give no support, been looking at what modern ish seats i can fit whilst still looking period. My mate has given me a pair of mk1 impreza sti seats but think they too wide with wrong look but will have to see, liking these tho
