deltamal Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 I want to detail the rocker covers on my V6, quite like the idea of wrinkle paint with the Ford logo and cast ribs polished after paint to accentuate them, but cant make my mind up about the colour, suggestions please!
mk2 mike Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 Think only black/silver will go with your colour combo
5tox Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 a deep metallic ruby red would look cool but dont think it would go with the colour of your car as said above, black and silver would look good crackled effect paint looks the nuts 1
5tox Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 Another of my fave colours is vauxhall arden blue, a great colour but very 'in yer face'
aardvark101 Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 Black and polish back the ribs/ logo to reveal the silver, if you add another colour it will look messy 2
mrusedcarguy Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 that's a defo from me blue with the black.
deltamal Posted February 3, 2014 Author Report Posted February 3, 2014 I am thinking the black with polished logo and ribs, thank you for all the suggestions peep's

gpcmatric Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 Nice ! Where did you get paint from?
deltamal Posted February 18, 2014 Author Report Posted February 18, 2014 It's VHT bought from ebay, I took it to the guy who does my bodywork to spray after I had prepped it as it has to be stoved at 200 deg C to get the wrinkle finish, it can be done with engine heat but that was not practical as other bits of the engine are being worked on, and I was banned from using the kitchen oven!
gwtaylor22 Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Remember doing my ae86 rocker cover in wrinkle finish except I used the wife's oven TAKE NOTE!!! Don't use wife's oven as it leaves an awful smell But did turn out excellent though
