new dizzy x/flow advice

hi need a new dizzy for my 1700x/flow ? wot would you recommend dont want to spend a fortune just a reliable set up thanks

I got accuspark set up on mine seems ok not used it much tho but hasnt missed a beat

I have fitted the Accuspark kit on our 1700 xflow. Seems ok so far.

Accuspark is ok if you want something cheap and cheerful!

 

We away towards H&H which is a much nicer setup and the advance curve is specced to suit the engine. Bestek is also good

i was using a modified motorcraft with accuspark kit in mine, i heard some reliability scare stories, so i have now fitted a bosch distributor from a valencia, i managed to get a NOS one, the curve isn't quite correct, but it does seem to run stronger than the accuspark kit i had before, it uses the minaturised amplifier which i believe is the same hardware as h+h etc use, so hopefully it should be reliable, the amp is fitted externally as well so could be changed easily at the roadside with 2 screws and a plug.

I always ran my 1760 with an Aldon dizzy

I bought a Bosch set-up from Burton Power and its been very reliable over last 2.5 years!

12 years on a dizzy from a 1982/4 Honda City.  That was cheap...

 

Probably tricky to find these days...

accusprak on mine seems ok and only £90 dizzy coil leads roter and cap  on ebay

cheers guys ,, i have bought an accuspark set up now think they called it the sports pack 30 was easy to fit ,compared to points /condensor wot a diffrence ,thanks for the advice

Just send my accuspartk back for a replacement lasted less than 2 months, and caused no end of running problems

fitte a bestek, and will use the replacement as a spare... car runs fine now
