Hi all,

Recently discovered this site and thought that I'd say hello properly.

Firstly, massive thanks to Vista, who has just helped me dig out the old previous owner's build thread for my car.

My car started out as an Olympic Blue 1300l which was rescued in 2011 by an OSF member from S. London.  The car had been extensively rebuilt and sported the proper South London look, with lowered suspension, no spots, front bumpers, smooth line and the obligatory peep door mirror!  It was the cover car on Classic Ford magazine in mid 2012.

I went to see it after selling my RS1600i and fell in love with it, knowing that there were a few corners cut and jobs to do (bodywork a credit to the PO, mechanical work not so, but water under the bridge!).

I've started changing it from the South London to the Mid Devon look, so it's grown a few bits and lost a few others, but I'll post some pictures over on the member's rides section if anyone is interested enough to have a look.

Great site, thanks again to Vista and hope to have a natter with a few like-minded souls as some point!

Cheers and here's a pic of what it was like when I got it,

Steve

We West country peeps put tractor tyres on them and use them to pull ploughs :-)

Welcome to the forum, glad I could help. Are you going to Powderham show next weekend (at Powderham Castle near Exeter)? We always have a stand there so come over and say hello

Yes, Powderham is on the cards this year (managed to squeeze a weekend pass from the wife and children!).

Ironically, I'm on the Exeter Mini club stand, so will definitely try to catch up, possibly even for a beer on Saturday night.

The car is a bit of an ongoing project, so I've posted a essay and plenty of photos on the refurb/rebuild/projects thread.

Devon look : plenty tread and ride height, plus big spotlights to see the wildlife in the hedges on the evening blast in the lanes!
