pnwrs2000 Posted September 13, 2014 Report Posted September 13, 2014 Hi, The mechanical fuel pump on my 1300 crossflow has packed up so rather than replace it I'm thinking that I might as well update the system by fitting an electric fuel pump. Please can you give me your opinions on what I should / shouldn't fit etc ? Cheers Darren
pnwrs2000 Posted September 14, 2014 Author Report Posted September 14, 2014 Is there anybody out there ?
HotRodMatt Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 Depends on the spec of your engine. ie how much fuel you need and what pressure. A Facet silver top with an in line pressure regulator would be fine with a 1300. Wire it through a relay though.
pnwrs2000 Posted September 14, 2014 Author Report Posted September 14, 2014 Cheers chaps. Sorry I should've said - spec wise the 1300 will soon be changed for a 1600 with twin 40's. Do you reckon the same spec would be suitable ?
classicwhitey Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 yea no problem. with a fuel preasure regulator you will be fine
deltamal Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 Electric pump is a good move! I was running a 1700 Crossflow on twin 40's and it used to 'run out of steam' if it was getting booted! the mechanical pump can't keep up with a demanding engine.
Tom E Cropp Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 The malpassi filter king is a really good adjustable regulator id recommend it with a facet pump. Been using that set up on my 1700 x flow with 48s never had any issues
