Muzzman Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Why are they such a popular mod on the OSF? I have an understanding of what it does technically but what will it give me in the real world. I've sold my track car so have a wee bit of cash now to spend on the OSF.
Tall paul Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 More traction instead of one wheel spinning up but let's be honest most fit them for sideways fun!
HotRodMatt Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 More traction instead of one wheel spinning up but let's be honest most fit them for sideways fun! Shocking behaviour... ;)
rallyesport04 Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 a plated diff in a escort is the most fun you will have with your pants on
daveaphillips Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 I got the 3J diff, I was amazed at the difference... MUCH more traction out of roundabouts, corrected understeer when the loud pedal is down, and it might also possibly be a little more slippery when pushed DO IT Best upgrade so far. Dave. 1
John escort mk1V6 Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 And it saves tyres , most of all by existing the corners by full throttle , and thru that faster. 1

daveaphillips Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Hi Dave, what ramp angles and pre load did you opt for? thinking of getting one my self Hi Classic - I'm actually not sure... Mr. WPE installed and set it up for me, whatever he did was spot on
Paulfosk Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Just ordered mine thru James at hpe went for 50/90 ramp and 25/30 preload for 1700 x flow
GJUK Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 They transform a car. My car is all seam welded, anti tram bar'd up and as stiff as anything. After adding the LSD you can point it in any direction and you always feel in control, even going sideways
seaneylad Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 all this LSD talks .. makes me need to buy one when ive sorted my suspension out
GJUK Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 If anyone is in the midlands try 'Diff Andy' at Arrow engineering I think his company is. Rebuilds diffs, is well in to old school ford stuff and good value for money. Rebuilt mine a few years ago, its spot on.
