PaulNP Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 Hi to all on the forum! I live in West Yorkshire near Wakefield. New to old Fords but huge rally fan, so recently bought the car I've always wanted since I was a kid & can clearly remember Hannu Mikkola roaring through the Yorkshire Forests in his Escort Mk2. I've been hooked ever since & I'm pretty well connected in the world rally scene now, which is lucky. Bought as a hobby, fun & weekend car. Looking forward to fixing a few age related issues, mainly cosmetic to tidy it up a bit! First proper technical challenge is to source & fit remote servo, the brakes are scaring the living bejesus out of me currently, despite vented fronts, rear disc conversion, adjustable pedal box & braided hoses. The sensible side of me says I need remote servo as my first project. So any thoughts on this very appreciated! Anyway enough for now, I look forward to conversing with like minded people, I'm sure I will lean on many of you for advice going forwards
Admin Vista Posted November 25, 2014 Admin Report Posted November 25, 2014 welcome to OSF. Most people on here would tell you to push the pedal harder but I'm with you on preferring servo brakes 1
PaulNP Posted November 25, 2014 Author Report Posted November 25, 2014 Hi Vista, yeah I'm getting that feeling, maybe I've been too spoilt with modern cars & AP 6 pots on my previous fun cars. I'm doing the gym 3x a week, I'm not sure what else I can do apart from man up, grow proper legs or go for remote servo!
irishtorag Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 drive old skool ways Paul yano the way you were taught and its far from in a comfy armchair kenny

PaulNP Posted November 28, 2014 Author Report Posted November 28, 2014 Welcome fellow newbie and fellow Yorkshite! You going to the Roger Clarke this weekend? some great stages and cars there.....although you do have to wrap up warm!! I wish, I'm helping my sister move house, I already know where I'd prefer to be & hardly started yet!
RIKB80 Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 Was a good day, although fact they shut the A1 so it was a right farce getting there, then they delayed on of the stages so didn't get back home til 12.30am......was a long day!
