Finally able to join in!!

Hi Everyone,

 

Delighted to be able to join this forum, having bought a Mk1 Escort which is being delivered to me on Monday!!

 

Its a 1973 4 Door South African Car, imported in 1991, and only 2 owners since (the guy i'm buying from has had it since '96!).  So far I know it's running a 1600 xflow, with a fast road cam and a full Ashley exhaust.  It's been stood since '08, but passed it's MOT without advisory at the time, and has been stored inside since so hopefully not too much needed to get it roadworthy.  Sounds like the lights and indicators may be a bit temperamental though...

 

Looking forward to becoming part of the community, and draining all your knowledge and resources with a million questions!!

Thanks for the welcome all. My plans are pretty much in line with what Stuart has said. Nicer wheels, bit lower, steering wheel and seats if I can find some nice ones, and job done. Spend remaining cash on fuel (like I won't spend every single spare penny on it! Who am I kidding!)

 

I quite like the fact it's a 4 door, makes it a bit different, and certainty helped the price tag!

Hello mate the fenland old skool ford crew have sent up a meet at the shell garage/café at guyhirn on the A47 just outside of peterborough the next one will be next year so keep an eye out for it on here in the events section.

Thanks for the welcome all!! It finally arrived yesterday, and it's every bit as lovely as the pictures show!!  A small hole in the sill to weld, and sort out the issue with the lights (none of them including the indicator work on the NS!) and off for MOT!  I am absolutely in love with this car!!
